This course also serves as a great \u2018Back to Basics\u2019 course for those OH&amp;S Committee members who desire refresher training. This course meets the (Provincial&nbsp;<a id=\"yui_3_17_2_1_1648571943729_1377\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worksafebc.com\/en\/law-policy\/occupational-health-safety\/searchable-ohs-regulation\/ohs-regulation\/part-03-rights-and-responsibilities#SectionNumber:3.27\">OHSR 3.27<\/a>) mandatory minimum training requirements effective April 2017 for new joint committee members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In this course participants will:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learn the legal responsibilities, duties and functions of the Joint OH&amp;S Committee and Worker Representatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn about Provincial health and safety legislation, workplace parties\u2019 rights &amp; responsibilities including the Right to Refuse unsafe work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indicate key elements of having an effective committee and the process of evaluation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify the legal requirements of workplace Inspections and Investigations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand how to conduct effective workplace inspections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn about principles of workplace assessment and control strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Participant requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The online workshop will be delivered via Zoom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Given the interactive nature of the workshop,\u00a0<strong>each participant must join the workshop individually using a laptop or personal computer<\/strong>. Some functions may not be available on smartphones or similar devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Participants must have a functioning camera and microphone<\/strong>\u00a0to fully participate in workshop activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The workshop will not be recorded, so be prepared to take notes in any manner you prefer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Workshop materials will be distributed electronically to participants prior to the start of the workshop.
