In return, SafeCare BC will pay the backfill replacement wages to the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are the benefits?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Organizations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Get paid for your peer facilitator\u2019s time.<\/strong>&nbsp;We\u2019ll pay the backfill replacement wages each day the peer facilitator runs a workshop.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Get no-cost training.\u00a0<\/strong>Secondments may take place at the <strong>peer facilitator\u2019s<\/strong> organization. When that happens, some training seats are reserved for your staff, and we pay you backfill replacement wages for the <strong>peer facilitator\u2019s<\/strong> time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Individuals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Expand your skill set.<\/strong>\u00a0Becoming a <strong>peer facilitator<\/strong> is an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth. You\u2019ll increase your knowledge and gain valuable facilitation skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make an even bigger impact.<\/strong>&nbsp;You\u2019ll directly improve the health and safety of your colleagues in the sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Am I eligible?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To be eligible, you must:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work for a SafeCare BC member or associate member organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have completed <strong>peer facilitator<\/strong> training and Mentorship in an eligible program stream.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The eligible program streams are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum (PVPC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gentle Persuasive Approaches in Dementia Care (GPA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safety Leadership Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safe Resident Handling or Safe Client Handling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are the application criteria?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We rate applications based on commitment. You must:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facilitate at least three workshops for SafeCare BC within one year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain <strong>peer facilitator<\/strong> certification by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scbcdev.safecarebc.ca\/service\/peer-facilitator-program\/continuing-education-tracking\/\" data-type=\"service\" data-id=\"1838\">completing and tracking continuing education requirements<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have experience in the continuing care sector<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be comfortable with facilitating the material<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be located within BC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do I apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ll be collecting applications until November 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 1:&nbsp;<\/strong>Contact your organization and let them know you\u2019re interested in the secondment program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Step 2:&nbsp;<\/strong>Review the&nbsp;sample agreement below&nbsp;with your organization. Send any questions to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:training@safecarebc.ca\" target=\"_blank\">training@safecarebc.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Step 3:&nbsp;<\/strong>Complete and submit the&nbsp;application form.&nbsp;We\u2019ll contact you about your application and may ask follow\u2013up questions. Our interest in&nbsp;having&nbsp;you as a seconded facilitator will depend on our current training needs.&nbsp;If we haven\u2019t seen you facilitate recently, we may&nbsp;ask&nbsp;you to attend one of your in-house workshops to assess your content competency and facilitation skills.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Step 4:<\/strong>\u00a0We\u2019ll contact you about the status of your application.\u00a0If\u00a0we\u2019d like to move forward,\u00a0we\u2019ll send you an Agreement you and your site need to sign.
