Immunization has saved more lives in Canada over the last 50 years than any other health intervention. <\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When caring for vulnerable populations, we have an extra responsibility to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Employers and employees have a shared responsibility to prevent the spread of diseases in the workplace and avoid causing harm to residents and clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking precautions to prevent the spread of illness \u2013 through vaccines, PPE, and handwashing \u2013 helps keep you and the people you care for safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healthcare workers have additional risks of exposure to communicable diseases because of their contact with patients, residents, clients, and families who may be infected. Immunization helps protect staff and residents or clients from becoming infected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
