This could have implications for your workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Examples in long-term care settings<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Laundry services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lint and fibres from dryers can build up in vents, filters, and ducts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Polyester and synthetic fabrics are common in resident clothing and linens, increasing the risk of combustible lint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Housekeeping<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dust from vacuum bags, under beds, and in storage rooms can accumulate, especially if not cleaned regularly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microfibres from cleaning cloths and mop heads may also contribute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maintenance and facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wood dust may be generated from minor carpentry or repair work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Storage areas with cardboard boxes or textile off-cuts can trap dust.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Resident activity areas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Craft rooms (e.g., sewing, quilting, or fibre arts) may generate fibres and lint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mechanical rooms<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dust can collect on equipment (e.g., fans, heaters, ventilation systems), creating a fire hazard if not controlled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We encourage you to review the proposed changes and share this information with your teams.
