This elected position is open to individuals who are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2705 <strong>Actively employed<\/strong> as a front-line worker<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2705 Working in an <strong>Association member home care and support services organization<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Board expectations include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Be Present and Engaged:<\/strong><br>Your voice matters. Directors are expected to attend and contribute to all Board meetings. We value your insight and need your participation to support thoughtful, effective decision-making.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Attend In-Person When Possible:<\/strong><br>Board meetings are planned as face-to-face gatherings. A virtual option is available if needed, but in-person attendance is strongly encouraged. The board meets approximately 8 times per year for 4 hours, with one meeting taking place as a full-day session for strategic planning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Respect the Flow of Meetings:<\/strong><br>Arriving on time and staying for the full duration helps keep meetings focused and productive. Arriving late or leaving mid-way through can disrupt the group\u2019s work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Notify Us if You Can\u2019t Attend:<\/strong><br>If you\u2019re unable to attend a meeting (or part of it), please let the Chair or SafeCare BC staff know in writing at least 72 hours in advance when possible. This helps ensure we maintain quorum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maintain Good Attendance:<\/strong><br>Directors are expected to attend at least 50% of Board meetings. Missing three consecutive meetings may result in being asked to resign.
