Here\u2019s what it means for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;As an employer, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep a detailed inventory of all hazardous substances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conduct a risk assessment that includes\u00a0emergencies that may arise outside the workplace (such as in neighbouring facilities.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop an emergency response plan that includes procedures for evacuations and shelter-in-place for all persons at a workplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establish emergency notification procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure safe work procedures for controlling the release, cleaning up spills, or testing prior to re-entry, are in place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure workers are provided with training\u00a0in all parts of the emergency planning process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conduct drills at least once per year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review your emergency plan annually.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Retain records for five years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The revised regulation document is available on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/4ct0f.r.sp1-brevo.net\/mk\/cl\/f\/sh\/SMK1E8tHeGn5PXZXrim07Sln4r3K\/yDw-fwaaFjr0\"><u>WorkSafeBC's website<\/u><\/a>.&nbsp;If you have any questions about the requirements, or if you would like help refining your emergency plan, contact us at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:info@safecarebc.ca\"><u>info@safecarebc.ca<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On February 3, amendments to WorkSafeBC\u2019s chemical and biological agents emergency planning regulations will come into effect.
