He\u2019s also been a part of the Front-line Communications Working Group since its inception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBeing involved for so long, I\u2019ve watched the changes,\u201d he said. \u201cI think the group that is in there right now gives a really good snapshot of what\u2019s happening on the front line. We\u2019ve got a lot of good and powerful voices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After taking multiple training courses and having been involved with SafeCare BC for the last few years, Bryan knows first-hand what proper training and education can do for someone working in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe education I\u2019ve received has helped me become a better caregiver,\u201d he said. \u201cI want to be instrumental in bringing SafeCare BC to care staff because I believe in what they offer. Before SafeCare BC, we care workers didn\u2019t have anything like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bryan started in his position long before SafeCare BC existed, and he\u2019s seen the difference they\u2019ve made, including increasing the engagement of his peers and getting them more involved. He says there is a great opportunity through SafeCare BC for front-line workers to become peer facilitators, as he has done, which helps expand health and safety education to more workers throughout BC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on his experience in the sector, Bryan says it\u2019s imperative that the people working with seniors daily are given a voice regarding how SafeCare BC operates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBeing someone who\u2019s out there each and every day, I\u2019ve got a pretty good handle on what care workers are talking about and what the needs are as far as what education should be offered as well as some of their concerns,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf those on the front line didn\u2019t have a voice, SafeCare BC wouldn\u2019t be as effective.
