We are pleased to announce opening a third SafeCare BC Satellite Training Centre, the second on Vancouver Island, at Nanaimo\u2019s Eden Gardens. This partnership agreement with Eden Gardens will increase access and expand health and safety training capacity for continuing care workers on the central Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are very excited to partner with member sites across the province so that more training can be delivered locally,\u201d says Jen Lyle, CEO of SafeCare BC. \u201cWe know that health and safety education and training is a key aspect in helping reduce the number of workplace injuries, which in turn will positively impact staffing shortages.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Continuing care workers in long-term care, home care and community health support have some of the highest injury rates compared to all occupations in BC. Aside from its training centre in Burnaby, SafeCare BC has partnered with organizations in Parksville and Abbotsford to open satellite training centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
