{"id":845,"date":"2023-06-23T10:05:29","date_gmt":"2023-06-23T17:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/safecarebc.ca\/?page_id=845"},"modified":"2024-12-04T11:27:27","modified_gmt":"2024-12-04T19:27:27","slug":"membership","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/scbcdev.safecarebc.ca\/?page_id=845","title":{"rendered":"SafeCare BC Membership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How does SafeCare BC membership work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Automatic:&nbsp;<\/strong>You're automatically a member if your WorkSafeBC classification number is 766011 (long-term care) or 766006<strong> <\/strong>(home and community support).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Opt-in:&nbsp;<\/strong>If you\u2019re an eligible education or service provider, you can apply to become a member \u2014 see below for more information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once an organization is a SafeCare BC member, all the people within that organization also become members and have access to benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who\u2019s eligible for opt-in membership?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Education providers<\/strong> who:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Offer education or training, such as nursing or administration, that prepares people to work in the continuing care sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you offer a health care aide training program, it&nbsp;<strong>must<\/strong>&nbsp;be fully recognized by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cachwr.bc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BC Care Aide &amp; Community Health Worker Registry<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Continuing care sector service providers<\/strong> who:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide standard services in the continuing care sector, such as catering or housekeeping, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide special services in the continuing care sector, such as assisted living or specialized community support living, but whose organization does NOT have the WorkSafeBC classification number 766011 or 766006.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In addition to the above, education and service providers must also . . .<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Operate in British Columbia;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be registered with WorkSafeBC for at least one year;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be in good standing with WorkSafeBC; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NOT be a commercial supplier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I apply for an opt-in membership?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Education and continuing care sector service providers can calculate their approximate costs and apply to be a member <a href=\"https:\/\/scbcdev.safecarebc.ca\/membership\/become-a-member\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scbcdev.safecarebc.ca\/membership\/become-a-member\/\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SafeCare BC is the non-profit workplace health and safety association for the continuing care sector.
