The Regulation promotes occupational health and safety to protect workers and other people in workplaces from work-related risks to their health - including injury, illness, and mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Workers Compensation Act<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>Workers Compensation Act<\/em>\u00a0<strong>establishes the Workers' Compensation Board of B.C. (WorkSafeBC) as an entity and sets out its mandate<\/strong>. The <em>Act <\/em>provides the legal authority and framework for all WorkSafeBC's activities, including occupational health and safety activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>Act <\/em>was revised in 2019 as part of a standard legislative process to update and modernize language.
